Quality Control Technician – Receiving Inspection

As a Quality Control Technician – Receiving Inspection, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality for the components that go into our life-changing medical device. Working closely with Supply Chain, Engineering and Manufacturing teams, you’ll help keep our production lines running smoothly and safely. This role sits at the heart of our operations, ensuring every part meets our standards so we can deliver world-class care to patients, and help people living with heart failure to get their normal back.

This role is offered on a 12-month fixed term contract basis, and reports to the Supply Chain Senior Engineer.

Responsibilities
  • Work in cleanroom and non-cleanroom ESD environments to complete inspections of medical device raw materials, components and products both with and without the use of microscopes.
  • Support accurate inventory management by ensuring timely receipt, inspection, and system updates for all incoming materials and components.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in associated procedures, equipment, inspections and general practices; and aid in implementation.
  • Liaise with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering and Manufacturing Departments to trend, track and troubleshoot issues.
  • Liaise with external suppliers, raising purchase orders for controlled parts and services, and providing feedback on supplier performance.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by following current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintenance and upkeep of manufacturing environments, tools and equipment.
  • Engage with the FIRE1 QMS to ensure delivery of the overall quality strategy & support the achievement of the business quality objectives.
Qualification & Experience
  • Cleanroom experience in medical device or related industry.
  • Inspection and/or manufacturing experience in a regulated environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Well organised with ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to self-start and take on responsibility.
  • Certificate/Diploma in a related field (e.g. Certified Quality Technician ASQ) would be a plus.
