Manufacturing Manager

Location: Dublin

Maternity cover contract: 16 months Fixed Term

Purpose:

  • Management of short- and medium-term manufacturing planning and activities.
  • Ensuring Clinical Demand is met.
  • Ensuring Test Demand is met.
  • Ensure FIRE1 objectives are met.
Responsibilities

Production Capacity Planning:

  • Develop and implement production capacity plans and workflows to optimize
    resources and meet output targets
  • Short to medium term build and demand plan

Manufacturing Environment & Process Development

  • Coordination with R&D group and Quality group to establish manufacturing environment & processes with capacity to meet expected demand
  • Coordinate and enable manufacturing development projects
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Application of lean principles; identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity
  • Review and approve protocols, written reports, and technical documentation in accordance with business standards
  • Key technical contact for all manufacturing processes
  • Coordinating efforts across multiple groups, making timely decisions, and ensuring high performance and accountability.

Team Leadership & Manufacturing

  • Responsible for performance of Manufacturing Team
  • Lead, motivate and manage a team of technical professionals, fostering a high performance culture
  • Oversee hiring, training, and development of staff to enhance technical and leadership capabilities

Quality & Compliance

  • Maintaining compliance with FIRE1 Quality Management System
  • Engage with the FIRE1 QMS to ensure delivery of the overall quality strategy & support the achievement of the business quality objectives
  • Quarantine / Non-conformance Resolution

Safety

  • Enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain compliance with industry regulations
Experience & Education

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s of Engineering or equivalent
  • 3-5 years managing production supervisors and/or assemblers
  • 3-5 years managing build schedules and adopting to daily challenges
  • Technical knowledge of manual/low-tech manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of medical device quality and regulatory standards
  • Project management in fast-paced, multi-priority environments
  • Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel proficiency
  • Attention to detail and process improvement mindset

Desirable:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Lean and statistical methods an advantage
